Staying Safe on Hugna
Version: 1.0
Date: 3 November 2026
New people. New possibilities. Your choice.
Hugna helps you find others who want to enjoy the same activities. You can see information people choose to share, get to know them a little and decide for yourself whether to meet.
You are in control
You never owe anyone a reply, invitation or meeting. Feel free to use messages to clarify expectations before agreeing on anything. Avoid sharing your home address, financial details or identity documents with people you do not know.
Before meeting someone new
- Consider choosing a café or another public place.
- Tell someone you trust where you will be.
- Arrange your own transport home.
- Be clear about the plan and respect boundaries.
- Leave if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
Block and report
You may block someone to restrict future contact and report behaviour that violates our Guidelines. If you report a specific message, it may be preserved as evidence; the entire chat is not automatically shared with Hugna. Private messages are not end-to-end encrypted, and Hugna does not routinely read them. See our Privacy Policy.
Age verification
Hugna is for people aged 18 and over. During the pilot, users provide their date of birth and confirm their age themselves; Hugna does not use BankID and cannot guarantee that everyone has accurately stated their identity.
In an emergency
If you are in immediate danger in Norway, call 112 (police) or 113 (ambulance). Hugna is not a 24-hour emergency service. For other concerns, use the reporting feature or email hei@hugna.no.
Plan less. Meet more.
